Update on Pendarvis

- Wednesday, April 01, 2009
Since the signing of the lease for the Pendarvis site, we have contacted several contractors for the installation of a fence surrounding our site. The prices have come in better than originally anticipated, we are happy to report.
We had a minor squall, when a contractor approached the authorities for a permit. He was presented with a surveyors drawing which showed areas not to be disturbed, conservation areas. After meeting with Richard Blankenship, Parks & Recreation director for the county, on March 9, we develop a slightly modified foot print for our site, which did not reduce any area usable for trailer storage.
At this time, we have 4 committed customers. As soon as we have five, which the membership required us, in order to cover the rental cost, I will give the go ahead for the fence construction.
I encourage all members to help promote the availability of the site. Customers for the storage area mean new members, an increase of the sailing fleet, younger sailors who will ensure the health of our club for the future. Please look for the flyer in the SLSC web site, copy it and pass it around.
Wishing you good winds, clear horizons, golden sunsets and safe anchoring.

The Lease is Signed

- Thursday, March 05, 2009

The St. Lucie Sailing Club has an Official Home! We have signed a lease with the Martin County Parks and Recreation Department to lease property at Pendarvis Cove Park.

Negotiations are currently underway to have a fence built for the corral to store small sailboats with their mast up at this location.  Due to the nature of the lay-out and the depth of the boat ramp, the site is limited to a centerboard sailboats about 20 -21 feet and under.  The price for trailerable sailboats will be $75.00 a month and dingies / board-style boats $35.00.  The contract is availble below.

For more information on Mast-Up Sailboat Storage contact Alex Jaramillo at (772)220-1366.
